As a non-profit organisation, all donations, grants, and other contributions that Camp Out Inc. receives go towards maintaining accessibility and high quality programming at camp, and keeping our camp fees as low as possible for all campers and their families. Camp Out is staffed and run entirely by unpaid volunteers and we have a no-one turned away for lack of funds policy.

( Second Recruitment Round)

Camp out is looking for 1 or 2 more awesome people to join our organising crew! This time around, we’re looking for more conversation, and less essential criteria!
Write us half a page about your personal politics, why you are interested in camp out, what skills and experience you have, what you think about camp concept and we will then hold informal interviews with some current crew members and go from there.
important things to know about camp crew-
we have a weekly 3 hr meeting and a half day meeting once a month ( or so) and  often do extra work in smaller groups during the week
we are non hierarichal consensus based volunteer collective
we work hard and have alot of fun!

Is there going to be another camp in 2012? I'm keen as a bean... And if anyone planning to go reading this could maybe drop me a message I'd be really grateful as I think I'll be going alone
campoutcrew campoutcrew Said:

Yep we’ve just opened registrations for this year! The 2012 camp will be held September 24th-29th, check out www.campout.org.au for all the info.
If you’d like to get in touch with other people who have gone to camp before (and might be going again this year), head to our facebook page, there’s a few ex-campers who can answer questions over there :)

Asker anaabiosis Asks:
Do people go on their own or usually in groups? Or as I imagine, a mixture of both? And what do people do in terms of rooms? As in, do you get assigned a room or you just nominate who you want to stay with or you get a room to yourself?
campoutcrew campoutcrew Said:

In the past most campers have come by themselves - it’s an awesome way to meet people - we’ve had a couple of pairs of friends come, we’ve had siblings, but yep mostly people come by themselves.
With the rooms and sleeping arrangements, there’s three big camper cabins and everyone is free to choose where they’d like to sleep. The cabins are all mixed gender, and there is a Camp Out crew member in each cabin too.

where is CAMP OUT actualy located, like what in the adress? and when is the next camp most likely to be on?
campoutcrew campoutcrew Said:

Hiya, the camp is held in northern NSW, about 4 hours north of Sydney. We have a free bus that collects people from Sydney, Newcastle and other places as needed. This year’s camp is being held September 24th - 29th in the spring school holidays, check out www.campout.org.au if you wanna download a registration form :)
